There’s really no pleasing some people. This isn’t the first time a rich, famous, and attractive person has complained about how rich/famous/attractive they are. Hell, it’s the plot of almost every Disney movie.
The latest person bitching about their success is Emily Ratajkowski, who sat down with a reporter from the Evening Standard (God, I would kill for that job) and talked about how much she regretted becoming a global sex symbol.
From The Evening Standard:
‘It’s an interesting paradox. If you’re a sexy actress it’s hard to get serious roles. You get offered the same thing that they’ve seen you in.’
Ratajkowski went on to say that growing up, her mother instilled in her the importance of being recognized for more than her looks. When people remarked that she could have a career in modelling: ‘my mom said “no, she’ll be a brain surgeon.”‘
Ratajkowski was signed at the age of 14 by Ford Models in LA.
Huh. That, uh… that brain surgeon thing didn’t last too long, did it?
Look, Emy: there are a lot of us out there that couldn’t imagine a life even close to the amount of comfort and tit-fucking loadedness that you live in without busting our asses for 30 years to become brain surgeons. If somebody gave me the opportunity to dance around in nothing but a thong for a million dollars and all I had to do was give up a serious acting career and get grinded on by Robin Thicke, I’d be all over that shit like, well… like Robin Thicke was in that video. Damn.
Be happy for what you have. You’re one of the richest, sexiest women in the world. Being taken seriously is overrated.
